There is the common misconception that all people born within the sound of Bow Bells are East End cockneys. No. Those bells do not relate to a certain Bow Church, which really is in The East End of London, but to another with the similar name of St Mary Le Bow Church, designed by Sir Christopher Wren. It’s situated close to the city of London and not the real East End, and the bell itself was destroyed in The London Blitz in 1941. In other words, no true cockneys, no matter how near or far from Bow Bells their lives began, were born after The London Blitz. So, I was born in West Ham, but I'm not a cockney.
Tomorrow it's nonsense about the jam jar, car, but to continue reading my introduction click on this absolutely stunning picture I painted not unlike Renoir.
