Chapter 58 - Gold Watch - Scotch


Eagle Ponds where I caught my first fish, a 1 ounce roach. That was 70 years ago so it must be the size of a whale now.

Gold watch was a term used in pubs when a cockney fancied a nip of whisky.

Let’s begin by getting the correct spelling as it seems to be confusing, even when sober. Whisky without an e refers to whisky distilled in Scotland and whiskey with an e refers to that which is distilled in Ireland.
