So we come to Lah Di Dah, the cockney rhyming slang for cigar. A little outdated in this modern world where people are more concerned about their health than looking like steam trains, but a well-known slang just the same.
Back in the day, our granddads and smelly uncles used to enjoy a Lardy after a special meal or as a tradition on Christmas Day as they puffed away with bellies full of turkey and Christmas pudding. The ghastly smell always accompanied The Great Escape.
